Kingdom Reaffirms Anti-Trafficking Commitment

National efforts aligned with international best practices

Bahrain has reaffirmed its commitment to combating human trafficking by continuing to strengthen its legal framework, institutional mechanisms and national initiatives aimed at preventing the crime and protecting victims.

In a statement marking the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, Labour and Legal Affairs Minister Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf said the Kingdom has made significant progress in the field under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The minister said Bahrain remains focused on modernising its legislative and institutional systems, enhancing the effectiveness of national procedures and improving coordination among government entities. He added that the Kingdom continues to broaden cooperation with regional and international partners while expanding public awareness initiatives and community partnerships in line with internationally recognised best practices.

Khalaf attributed Bahrain's achievements to the continuous development of its legislative and regulatory frameworks and the strengthened role of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons, which has ensured the sustainability and effectiveness of national efforts.

The minister reaffirmed Bahrain's commitment to advancing its anti-trafficking initiatives and building on its achievements to further strengthen the Kingdom's standing as a leader in combating human trafficking.
