New Car Sale Cancelled After Repeated Defects
Court Orders Dealer to Refund BD7,000

The High Civil Court of Appeal cancelled the sale of a new car after ruling that persistent technical defects made the vehicle unsafe and unreliable.
The court ordered the dealership to refund BD7,000 to the buyer after deducting BD1,675 for the vehicle's use and instructed the buyer to return the car. The dealership was also ordered to pay court costs and legal fees.
According to lawyer Hameed Al Sammak, the buyer experienced repeated faults, including display screen failures, transmission issues, and an airbag system defect, despite taking the vehicle to the service centre more than 12 times. The appeal court ruled that the recurring defects during the warranty period justified cancelling the sales contract.
