Family Office Resolves 436 Cases

Reconciliation Achieves 41% Settlement Rate

Family and Child Reconciliation Office has resolved 436 family-related cases through amicable settlements since its establishment, achieving a 41% reconciliation rate, according to its latest semi-annual report.

The report was presented to Attorney General Dr. Ali bin Fudhel Al Buainain during a meeting with Head of the Family and Child Prosecution Noora Jamal Al Maalla and Head of the Reconciliation Office Mohammed Abdulhakim Buhaji.

According to the report, the office has handled 1,067 cases since its launch, with assault cases accounting for the highest number of referrals, followed by insult and defamation cases.

During the first half of this year, the office received 247 cases and successfully settled 97 through reconciliation, recording a 39% settlement rate.

Attorney General Al Buainain praised the office's efforts in promoting restorative justice and supporting family stability, highlighting its role in resolving disputes outside the courtroom while safeguarding the best interests of children and easing the burden on the judiciary.
