Muharraq Project Hits First-Phase Milestone

Record-Speed Housing Deal Marks New Era for Bahrain's Land Programme

Ministerial Committee for Development Projects and Infrastructure held its 311th meeting, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.

The committee strongly condemned ongoing Iranian attacks on Bahraini territory, calling them a flagrant violation of the Kingdom's sovereignty and a breach of international law. The committee cited UN Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), adopted in March, which condemned Iran's attacks against Bahrain and other Gulf states, demanding their immediate cessation. The panel warned that continued strikes on civilian infrastructure and vital facilities endanger citizens and residents alike

The committee expressed appreciation to the Bahrain Defence Force, the National Guard, the Ministry of Interior, and all military, security, and civil authorities for their role in protecting the Kingdom's sovereignty.

Muharraq Project Progress

On the development front, the committee noted that 247 property acquisitions have been completed during the first phase of the Muharraq Development Project, carried out by the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture in coordination with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning.

The committee also congratulated the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and Eskan Bank on completing Bahrain's first social housing financing transaction for an off-plan unit under the Government Land Development Programme—achieved in record time.
