GCC Ministers Review Electricity and Water Cooperation Plans

The Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, chaired the meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee for Electricity and Water Cooperation, held with the participation of ministers responsible for the electricity and water sectors across Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states. The meeting was also attended by GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi.

In his opening remarks, Minister Humaidan underscored the importance of sustained coordination among GCC countries to advance collaboration in the electricity and water sectors. He emphasized that strengthening regional cooperation is essential to support sustainable development goals and enhance water security across the Gulf region.

He further commended the efforts of the GCC General Secretariat in following up on the directives of GCC leaders and in supporting initiatives that promote deeper integration between member states.

The meeting discussed a range of agenda items, including joint GCC projects in electricity and water. These initiatives are aimed at improving resource efficiency, strengthening infrastructure resilience, and enhancing the region’s ability to respond effectively to emerging challenges in both sectors.
