Bahrain praises Tajikistan water conference outcomes
Bahrain and Tajikistan have reaffirmed their diplomatic and economic ties during a meeting in the Tajik capital, Dushanbe, on the sidelines of a major international water conference.
His Excellency Emomali Rahmon received Bahrain’s Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, during the Fourth High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”.
The talks came as both sides highlighted growing cooperation and marked 30 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Royal greetings exchanged between Manama and Dushanbe
During the meeting, the Bahraini minister conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, along with their wishes for continued progress and prosperity for Tajikistan and its people.
In response, President Rahmon sent his greetings to the Bahraini leadership, wishing the Kingdom further development and success.
Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa were both acknowledged in the exchange of messages underscoring longstanding bilateral goodwill.
Bilateral relations highlighted as cooperation grows
The Bahraini minister praised relations between Manama and Dushanbe, noting that cooperation between the two countries has continued to expand across multiple sectors.
He described the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations as a key milestone, reflecting what he called deep-rooted ties and a shared commitment to strengthening coordination and partnership.
Water conference seen as platform for regional cooperation
The minister also congratulated President Rahmon on the successful organisation of the international conference, praising its outcomes and its role in advancing regional and global cooperation on water security and sustainable development.
He said such forums help build consensus on shared challenges and support collective action on issues of international importance.
