The General Secretariat of the Shura Council received a group of university students undergoing training at the Legal Affairs Division of the General Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior. This visit was part of its community partnership programmes aimed at raising awareness of the legislative and oversight roles of the legislative authority.

During the visit, Legal Researcher Issa Sabt delivered a presentation introducing the students to the Shura Council's role, constitutional powers, and the mechanisms and stages of the legislative process. The presentation covered the procedures for studying and discussing draft laws, decrees by law and legislative proposals, as well as the coordination and cooperation between the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives, including their integration with the government throughout the legislative process stages.

The visit also provided the students to learn about the administrative, advisory, technical and professional functions supporting the legislative process at the General Secretariat, including how various departments support the Council's work and enhance legislative activities.

The students also toured the Council's main session hall, where they were briefed on the procedures governing session holding and management.

The General Secretariat continues to organise programmes and activities and receive delegations and educational visits as part of its efforts to strengthen community partnership and promote awareness of legislative work, particularly among young people and students.
