Bahrain has strongly condemned what it described as an Iran-linked terrorist plot targeting the security and stability of Kuwait, following reports of an attempted illegal maritime infiltration into Kuwaiti territory.
In a statement issued on Monday, Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the alleged operation, which it said was connected to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and aimed at carrying out hostile acts inside Kuwait.
The ministry described the incident as a serious violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty, international law, and the principles of good neighbourliness, warning that such actions threaten regional peace and stability.
Bahrain reaffirmed its full solidarity with Kuwait and expressed complete support for all measures taken by Kuwaiti authorities to protect national security, maintain stability, and ensure the safety of citizens and residents.
The Kingdom also praised the vigilance and efficiency of Kuwait’s armed forces and security agencies in foiling the alleged plot and confronting those involved.
Bahrain extended wishes for a speedy recovery to an injured member of the Kuwaiti armed forces reportedly hurt during the operation.
The Foreign Ministry renewed its call on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take firm action against what it described as Iran’s continued hostile and destabilising activities in the region.
It stressed the importance of enforcing international law and relevant UN resolutions to strengthen regional and international peace and security.
The statement comes amid heightened tensions in the Gulf region and growing concerns over regional security following a series of incidents involving Iran and its affiliated groups.
