Gulf Air Launches First Starlink-Equipped Flight
Gulf Air, the national carrier of Kingdom of Bahrain, announced the operation of its first Starlink-equipped flight, bringing ultra-high-speed, low-latency satellite internet connectivity to its passengers for the first time. The launch establishes Gulf Air as one of the leading carriers in the region to offer Starlink, the world’s most advanced satellite internet service, engineered and operated by SpaceX.
Gulf Air Chief Executive Officer, Martin Gauss expressed his pride in what the airline continues to achieve for its passengers, saying: “Today represents a defining moment for Gulf Air. By introducing Starlink, we are delivering ground-quality internet at various cruising altitudes, enabling our passengers to stream, work, and stay connected throughout their journey in a way that was simply not possible before. This is the first step in our commitment to bringing next-generation connectivity across our entire fleet, and we are proud to mark this milestone from the skies above the Kingdom of Bahrain.”
To mark the occasion, Gulf Air hosted a launch event at Awal Private Terminal, attended by a number of ministers, senior government officials, aviation executives, and media representatives, featuring a special Starlink-equipped flight over the Kingdom of Bahrain.
With Starlink onboard, passengers can now enjoy complimentary, ultra-fast internet connectivity — the fastest Wi-Fi in the sky* — with simple one-click access across all cabin classes. Whether streaming movies and live sports, gaming, browsing social media, or staying productive with video calls, emails, and cloud-based applications, passengers can experience connectivity comparable to home broadband, at 35,000 feet. Multiple devices can be connected simultaneously, ensuring a seamless, uninterrupted experience from gate to gate.
