Minister lauds Bahraini press role in protecting national achievements

Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Minister of Information said the national press continues to play a key role in supporting stability and safeguarding the country’s achievements, as he visited several leading newspapers ahead of Bahraini Press Day.

The minister made the remarks during visits to the editorial offices of Al Ayam, Akhbar Al Khaleej, Al Watan and Al Bilad, where he met senior editors and media officials. 

He said the Bahraini media reflects “professional responsibility and national commitment” at a sensitive stage in the country’s development, describing it as an extension of the approach established under HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s reform agenda.

Al Nuaimi stressed that the press plays an important role in reinforcing national unity, supporting state institutions and promoting development, highlighting the importance of responsible reporting in preserving stability.

He also cited recent royal messages emphasising unity and national cohesion, praising the press’s awareness and professionalism in handling current developments.

The minister added that the media sector’s contribution aligns with ongoing support from HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, particularly in empowering national media professionals.

He called for documenting the current phase in Bahrain’s history for future generations, saying it reflects national resilience, unity and loyalty during challenging times.
