Rainy Season Preparations Begin

Municipal and Works teams are strengthening drainage, equipment and emergency response plans.

Bahrain is stepping up preparations for the upcoming rainy season. The Ministries of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and Works are coordinating with the Capital Governorate Council and municipal councils to strengthen emergency response and manage rainwater.

Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Minister Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak and Works Minister Ibrahim bin Hassan Al Hawaj reviewed preparedness plans, including preventive measures, equipment deployment and coordination mechanisms for handling rainwater reports and emergencies.

Al Mubarak said the ministry has formed emergency teams covering the Capital Municipality and the three municipalities of Muharraq, Northern and Southern regions. The teams are conducting site visits, assessing requirements and updating data to support the deployment of water suction vehicles and other equipment.

Al Hawaj said the Works Ministry is checking the readiness of rainwater drainage networks, carrying out maintenance and cleaning works, and preparing pumps, tankers and emergency teams to ensure a rapid response.
