Coast Guard conducts joint maritime inspection campaign

The Ministry of Interior announced that the Coast Guard conducted a joint maritime inspection campaign in the waters along Sa’ada Waterfront and Bahrain Bay.

The campaign was carried out in cooperation with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA).

The inspection focused on ensuring compliance with maritime safety requirements, including the availability of safety equipment, the installation and operation of Automatic Identification System (AIS) devices, and the validity of boat and captain licences.

The campaign also covered marine transport companies authorised to provide passenger services, with inspections conducted to verify the validity of their commercial licences and compliance with applicable regulations and requirements.

The participating authorities also checked the status of expatriate workers and identified cases involving unlicensed workers.

The campaign reflects the continued coordination and cooperation among the relevant authorities to strengthen oversight of maritime activities and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and safety requirements.
