Bahrain Summons Iraqi Diplomat Over Drone Incident

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Acting Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Iraq in Bahrain, Ahmed Ismail Al-Karawi, expressing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the continued hostile drone attacks targeting Bahrain and several other Gulf Cooperation Council states, which originated from Iraqi territory.
During the meeting, Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director-General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, handed over an official protest memorandum to the Iraqi diplomat.
The Kingdom stressed the urgent need for Iraq to address these threats and attacks in a serious and responsible manner, in line with relevant regional and international laws and agreements.
Bahrain reaffirmed that it reserves the right to take all necessary measures and precautions to safeguard its security, stability, and the safety of citizens and residents. It also underscored the importance of protecting the security of all states within the Gulf Cooperation Council region.
