Businessman jailed and fined over tax evasion case

The High Criminal Court sentenced a businessman to five years in prison and fined him BD247,559.551, in addition to requiring him to pay the equivalent value-added tax (VAT) he evaded. It also ordered his deportation following the completion of his sentence.
