The Kingdom of Bahrain has strongly condemned the continued Iranian attacks targeting civilian areas, residential neighborhoods, vital infrastructure, economic and oil facilities, and water desalination plants in Bahrain and several Arab countries. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs described these attacks as blatant violations of state sovereignty, international law, and humanitarian law, posing direct threats to the lives of civilians and residents, while dangerously escalating regional and international instability.
The Ministry particularly denounced the cowardly Iranian strikes on populated areas in Bahrain, including Sitra and the capital, Manama, which have resulted in fatalities, serious injuries among civilians, and damage to public and private property. The attacks, occurring during the holy month of Ramadan, were described as unjustifiable crimes, contrary to international law, religious teachings, and universal human values and ethics.
The Ministry emphasized that the ongoing use of missiles and drones reflects a dangerous escalation strategy and an insistence on undermining stability, violating principles of good neighborliness, international conventions, and legal norms, based on false claims previously refuted by Bahrain and its sister states. Bahrain continues to advocate for dialogue and diplomacy as the path to lasting peace and stability.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its deep gratitude to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, as well as sister and friendly states, for their support and solidarity with Bahrain’s security and stability. It also renewed its call to the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to take a firm stance and urgent measures to stop and deter these attacks, prevent their recurrence, strengthen international cooperation to protect global air and maritime navigation, ensure the uninterrupted flow of energy and trade through the Strait of Hormuz, and safeguard regional and international peace and security.
