His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa on Tuesday inaugurated the new Umm Al Hassam Police Station as part of the Interior Ministry’s strategic plan to transform police stations into integrated service centres.
The new station aims to strengthen community partnership and adopt advanced security technologies to enhance service delivery.
Upon arrival, the Interior Minister was received by senior officials, including the Deputy Interior Minister, the Chief of Police and the Interior Ministry Undersecretary. He unveiled the commemorative plaque, officially announcing the station’s opening.
The station has been designed as a comprehensive service centre for citizens and residents. It features modern security systems and advanced technologies to ensure faster processing of cases and high-quality services. The move is expected to improve rapid response and strengthen overall security readiness.
On the occasion, the Interior Minister praised the directives and continued support of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for ongoing development and modernisation efforts within the ministry. He also highlighted the close follow-up of Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and his commitment to initiatives that enhance operational readiness and develop human and technical capabilities.
He affirmed that security is the foundation of growth and prosperity and plays a vital role in protecting national achievements. He commended the work of police directorates across the Kingdom’s governorates, especially in strengthening cooperation with the community.
The Minister also praised the role of Capital Governorate police stations, including Umm Al Hassam, in serving citizens, residents, tourism facilities and service institutions, stressing the importance of continuously improving operational efficiency.
During the visit, he was briefed on the station’s advanced security services. In 2025, the station handled around 5,089 cases. It also includes a self-service kiosk that allows users to complete various services electronically, supporting the expansion of smart services.
The station is equipped with smart patrol vehicles fitted with the latest technologies to ensure swift response and immediate handling of reports.
The Interior Minister toured the facilities, inspected the vehicle area and reviewed operational procedures, stressing the importance of dedication and prompt response to maintain security and public safety for all.
