Bahrain Deepens Global Partnerships at Munich Security Conference

Talks with Latvia and Theresa May spotlight UN Security Council priorities and conflict resolution efforts

Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, held a series of high-level meetings in Munich on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, underscoring the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships across security, human rights and technology sectors.

Coordination Ahead of UN Security Council Term

In talks with Latvia’s Foreign Minister, Baiba Braže, discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and coordinating positions as both countries prepare to serve as non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council for the 2026–2027 term.

The two sides reviewed the steady development of relations and explored ways to deepen collaboration in areas of shared interest. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments, stressing the importance of joint efforts to reduce tensions, resolve conflicts and promote sustainable peace in the Middle East and Europe.
