Bahrain Cabinet Reviews Consumer Goods Stability Ahead of Ramadan

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, chaired today’s regular weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.

At the start of the meeting, the Cabinet praised the royal speech delivered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, during his visit to the General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force on the occasion of its 58th founding anniversary. The Council also highlighted the importance of the joint defense cooperation agreement between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the friendly French Republic, signed during His Majesty’s official visit to France at the invitation of President Emmanuel Macron.

The Cabinet extended its highest congratulations to His Majesty the King on the occasion of the National Action Charter anniversary and also congratulated the people of Bahrain on this national occasion.

The Council commended the outcomes of the official visit of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to the State of Kuwait, where he met with His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait, and His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of Kuwait. The Cabinet expressed gratitude to the Kuwaiti Amir, government, and people for the warm hospitality extended to the Crown Prince and his accompanying delegation.

The Council reviewed the availability of consumer goods in the markets and the stability of their prices, expressing appreciation to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the private sector for their efforts to ensure supply and price stability during Ramadan.

The Cabinet condemned the terrorist bombing targeting a mosque in Islamabad, Pakistan, during Friday prayers, extending condolences to the government, people, and families of the victims, and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.

The Council then approved several proposals submitted by ministerial committees and ministers, including:

  1. A draft law amending certain provisions of the decree-law regulating agricultural banks.

  2. A draft decision regulating media and advertising licenses to enhance content quality and protect individual and consumer rights.

  3. Various areas of cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Morocco.

  4. A joint announcement between the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to establish the UNIDO Regional Centre for Prosthetics and Rehabilitation in Bahrain.

The Cabinet also reviewed:

  1. Building permit statistics from 2022 to 2025.

  2. Updates on the priority framework of the Ministry of Social Development.

Additionally, the Council examined several reports, including:

  1. The closing ceremony of the joint security exercise “GCC Security 4.”

  2. Outcomes of the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Bahrain.

  3. Results of the visit of the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister to Bahrain for the Joint Higher Committee meeting.

  4. Outcomes of the U.S. State Department ministerial meeting on implementing agreements related to critical minerals.

  5. Results of the visit of Bahrain’s Foreign Minister and several Arab Foreign Ministers to Slovenia.

  6. Bahrain’s participation in the 2026 World Government Summit.

  7. Outcomes of Bahrain’s participation in the 2026 Saudi Media Forum.
