Bahrain, UNIDO discuss future of advanced and sustainable industries

His Excellency Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, met with His Excellency Gerd Müller, Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), during the latter’s visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain to participate in the 6th World Forum on Investment and Entrepreneurship.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the exchange of expertise and perspectives on the future of industry, policies supporting advanced and sustainable industrialization, and initiatives and enablers aimed at strengthening global industrial integration.

The Minister of Industry and Commerce reaffirmed Bahrain’s keenness to expand cooperation with international organizations in the industrial sector, highlighting its role in supporting policymaking, facilitating knowledge transfer, adopting advanced technologies, and reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as a regional hub for high-value-added, specialized industries. He also underscored UNIDO’s vital role in promoting entrepreneurship and innovation as key drivers of future industrial growth.

For his part, the UNIDO Director General expressed his appreciation for Bahrain’s efforts in hosting the global forum, wishing it success in achieving its objectives and the Kingdom continued progress and sustainable development.
