GCC Advisory Commission to Convene in Bahrain

The Advisory Commission of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) will hold the first meeting of its 29th session in the Kingdom of Bahrain on Monday, February 9, 2026.

The meeting will be chaired by Her Excellency Dr. Shaikha Maryam bint Hassan Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the 29th session of the Advisory Commission. Bahrain is hosting the meeting in its capacity as President of the 46th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The meeting will be attended by His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and His Excellency Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

During the session, members will discuss and review several key issues, including ways to enhance the role of the Advisory Commission, the future of Gulf strategic orientations towards digital currencies, the impact of digital and technological transformation on the labor market in GCC countries, and measures to curb conspicuous consumption in Gulf societies.
