2025 Marks Record Year for Bahrain Airport with 9.74 Million Passengers

Bahrain Airport Company, the entity responsible for managing and operating Bahrain International Airport, has announced record operational results for 2025, driven by unprecedented growth in air cargo volumes and exceptional passenger traffic. This performance reinforces the airport’s role as a key regional trade hub and a global gateway for air connectivity.

During the year, the airport handled a total of 405,217 tons of cargo, marking a 3.2% increase compared to 392,812 tons in 2024. This milestone establishes Bahrain International Airport as a leading logistics hub in the region, supporting the growth of trade in the Kingdom and strengthening its strategic position within global supply chains.

On the passenger front, the airport welcomed 9.74 million travelers in 2025, up 4.2% from 9.35 million in 2024, while aircraft movements reached 97,740 flights. The figures reflect a significant improvement in flight occupancy rates and high efficiency in runway capacity utilization, allowing the airport to accommodate growing demand without a corresponding increase in air traffic congestion.

Bahrain International Airport currently serves 74 destinations across six continents, catering to both passengers and cargo through partnerships with 39 airlines, further solidifying Bahrain’s position as a vital hub connecting emerging and established global markets. In 2025, the airport expanded its network with new routes to London Gatwick, Nairobi, New York, Bucharest, Ashgabat, and Liège, enhancing its international connectivity.

Among the fastest-growing destinations compared to 2024 were Singapore, Bengaluru, Abu Dhabi, Najaf, and Sharjah, indicating rising demand in both regional and international markets.
