Ombudsman Office Bids Farewell to EU Ambassador Christophe Farnaud

Ghada Hameed Habib, Secretary-General of the Ombudsman Office, welcomed His Excellency Christophe Farnaud, European Union Ambassador to Bahrain (resident in Riyadh), at her Seef office on the occasion of the conclusion of his tenure. Sheikh Mohammed bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director of International Cooperation and Development at the Ombudsman Office, also attended the meeting.

Habib expressed appreciation for Ambassador Farnaud’s efforts in strengthening ties and cooperation between Bahrain and the European Union, wishing him success in his future diplomatic assignments.

The discussion highlighted ongoing bilateral cooperation, exploring ways to enhance coordination and share expertise in areas of mutual interest. Habib underlined the Ombudsman Office’s commitment to learning from international best practices and strategic partnerships with the EU, supporting transparency, accountability, and human rights in line with Bahrain’s comprehensive reform agenda.

Ambassador Farnaud thanked the Ombudsman Office for its constructive collaboration during his tenure, praising its role as an independent oversight body and its notable achievements in advancing Bahrain’s human rights framework. He also wished the Kingdom continued growth and prosperity.
