From many hearts, one Republic
Republic Day is a moment to reflect on the values enshrined in our Constitution—justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity— which continue to guide India as a vibrant and inclusive democracy. This year’s celebrations are particularly meaningful as we commemorate 150 years of “Vande Mataram,” a song that embodies the spirit of India’s freedom struggle and continues to inspire unity, patriotism, and national pride across generations.
This year, we also mark 55 years of diplomatic relations between India and the Kingdom of Bahrain, a relationship founded on mutual respect, friendship, and cooperation. Over the decades, these ties have grown stronger through robust people-to-people connections, cultural exchanges, and economic collaboration. The Indian community in Bahrain has played a significant role in strengthening this bond by upholding Indian values while contributing positively to the social and economic development of the Kingdom.
Indian social and cultural associations have been central to this journey, fostering unity, preserving heritage, and nurturing a strong sense of belonging among the diaspora. In this context, the Kerala Catholic Association, which has been serving the community since 1970, has consistently been at the forefront, steadfastly committed to promoting cultural harmony, social service, and unity in diversity—values that resonate deeply with the spirit of our Republic.
As we celebrate this Republic Day, let us renew our commitment to unity, patriotism, and shared progress.
On the proud occasion of the Republic Day of India, I extend my warm greetings and heartfelt wishes to all Indians, and especially to the esteemed readers of The Daily Tribune & News of Bahrain. Jai Hind.
