Beijing: Ambassadors of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in Beijing held a series of high-level meetings with senior officials from China to discuss regional developments and enhance diplomatic coordination.

The meetings were led by Dr. Mohammed Ghassan Mohammed Adnan Shaikho, Ambassador of Bahrain to China and current chair of the GCC Ambassadors Council in Beijing, along with fellow GCC envoys accredited to China.

Discussions were held with senior Chinese officials, including the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Director-General of the Department of West Asia and North Africa, and China’s Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs.

Talks focused on recent developments in the Gulf region, including reported Iranian attacks on GCC countries and Jordan, as well as the potential global economic impact of any disruption to the Strait of Hormuz.

Separately, the Bahraini ambassador met with the Ambassador of Jordan in Beijing to review matters of mutual interest.

Both sides underscored the importance of strengthening coordination between GCC diplomatic missions and China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while expanding cooperation at both bilateral and multilateral levels.
