Vande Mataram – What it means for the Indian Diaspora in Bahrain

This Republic Day, as we reflect on the values enshrined in our Constitution and celebrate 150 years of the composition of Vande Mataram, our hearts are filled with myriad emotions - pride in our heritage, joy in our cultural tapestry and quiet confidence in our future.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Shri Bankim Chandra Chatterji for creating Vande Mataram, which is more than a poetry; it is a heartfelt salutation to our Motherland, symbolizing India’s natural beauty and cultural richness, the unity and collective resolve of the people to face any challenges and reverence for our Dharti Maa that has nurtured diverse cultures and traditions.

As members of the Indian diaspora in the Kingdom of Bahrain, these values travel with us across generations. The Indian community has consistently contributed positively to the Kingdom, which is their ‘second home’ in various fields. On a personal note, our Shrinathji Shri Krishna Temple is not just a place of worship, but also a place of service, where compassion, mutual respect and community upliftment form the core values.

On this patriotic occasion, may the essence of Vande Mataram guide us to deepen our unity and serve humanity with selfless dedication. We wish all our Indian brothers and sisters a Happy Republic Day. Jai Hind, Vande Mataram!
