WEF 2026: Bahrain Engages Global Leaders on Future Growth

Davos: His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court, held an extensive series of high-level meetings with international leaders and senior figures from the public and private sectors on the sidelines of the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, underscoring Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening global partnerships and advancing sustainable economic development.
His Highness is leading a senior Bahraini delegation on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, reflecting the Kingdom’s active engagement with global economic and policy platforms.
During the meetings, HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman met with a number of prominent international figures, including Eric Schmidt, Executive Chairman and CEO of Relativity Space; Pierre-André Chiappori, Minister of Finance and Economy of the Principality of Monaco; Meghan O’Sullivan, Director of Harvard University’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs; and Adam Goldstein, Founder and CEO of Archer Aviation.
Discussions focused on expanding cooperation across strategic sectors such as advanced technology, aerospace, innovation, sustainable finance, and future mobility. His Highness reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to building long-term partnerships with specialised institutions and global companies, encouraging investment, enhancing knowledge exchange, and adopting international best practices to support national development priorities.
As part of Bahrain’s diplomatic outreach at the Forum, His Highness also met with Milojko Spajić, Prime Minister of the Republic of Montenegro. The meeting highlighted the strength of bilateral relations and the shared desire to expand cooperation across economic, financial, and development-related sectors. Both sides reviewed opportunities to enhance coordination and discussed regional and global economic trends.
In a separate meeting, His Highness held talks with Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. His Highness emphasised the importance Bahrain places on strengthening economic relations with the Kurdistan Region, particularly in areas that support sustainable growth and mutual prosperity. The discussions explored avenues to deepen bilateral ties, expand trade and investment cooperation, and benefit from shared expertise.
Across all meetings, His Highness highlighted the importance of international forums such as the World Economic Forum in fostering dialogue, facilitating partnerships, and addressing shared global challenges. He stressed Bahrain’s focus on leveraging such platforms to enhance economic cooperation, attract investment, and support innovation-led development.
The meetings also included discussions on regional and international economic developments, as well as shared priorities related to resilience, diversification, and future-oriented growth.
The meetings were attended by His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, His Excellency Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, along with several senior officials.
