Manama: Lieutenant-General Tariq Al Hassan, Chief of Police and Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Royal Academy of Police, chaired a meeting of the Council to review the Academy’s ongoing work and future plans.

The meeting was attended by Major-General Dr. Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Deputy Chief of Police, and Lieutenant-General Fawaz Hassan Al Hassan, Commander of the Royal Academy of Police.

During the meeting, Lt-General Al Hassan highlighted the pivotal role of the Scientific Council in strengthening the security work system, in line with the commitment of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Academy’s Board of Trustees, to enhance performance and achieve institutional excellence through the Academy’s training, educational, and research outputs.

He stressed the importance of maintaining high quality standards across all sections and departments of the Academy to meet the demands of modern security work, contribute to raising the efficiency of security personnel, and ensure the highest levels of professionalism.

The Council discussed ways to ensure the continuous development of training and educational programmes, emphasising the need for regular performance review and evaluation to enhance the effectiveness of approved plans and achieve the targeted objectives for 2026.

The meeting also reviewed the Academy’s key activities during the second half of 2025, including a report on the organisation of the “AI Game Day 2025” artificial intelligence competition, held in cooperation with the Information and eGovernment Authority. The initiative targeted around 100 male and female university students from across the Kingdom of Bahrain, supporting innovation and the development of students’ technical capabilities.
