Tamkeen Unveils 2026–2030 Strategy to Boost Private Sector Growth
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Royal Court and Chairman of the Board of Tamkeen, emphasized the vital role of the private sector in driving economic growth and supporting national initiatives. He highlighted how private sector contributions strengthen various economic sectors and advance development, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
His Highness made these remarks while chairing the Board of Directors meeting of the Labour Fund “Tamkeen,” where he approved the Fund’s strategic plan for 2026–2030. He stressed the importance of continuing to empower national talent, expanding development opportunities, and supporting private sector institutions through effective initiatives that enhance competitiveness and sustainability, ultimately creating promising job opportunities for Bahraini citizens.
The new strategy focuses on four main priorities:

Targeting sectors with the highest impact on the economy and Bahraini citizens.

Guiding career paths through initiatives linking skills to market opportunities.

Promoting innovative approaches to stimulate private sector growth and financing.

Enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Fund through improved internal mechanisms and governance.
During the meeting, His Highness directed a review of all Fund programs to align them with the new strategic priorities and increase their impact on the private sector, supporting the national economy.
The Board also congratulated Ms. Maha Abdulhameed Mufeez, CEO of Tamkeen, on her reappointment by Royal Decree. Ms. Mufeez expressed gratitude for the royal trust and reaffirmed her commitment to achieving Tamkeen’s goals, strengthening the economy through private sector support and national workforce development. The Board also praised the team responsible for developing the new strategy, ensuring alignment with current and future market needs.
The meeting reviewed Tamkeen’s key achievements in 2025, including support for new job market entrants, career development, and institutions. Last year, the Fund assisted more than 20,800 Bahrainis entering the workforce, supported over 23,500 Bahrainis in career development programs, and helped more than 8,400 institutions across sectors with business development and digital transformation initiatives.
