The Bahrain Defence Force, represented by the Royal Bahraini Air Force, has joined the Gulf Shield 2026 military exercise, which began on Sunday in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The exercise includes participation from all Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

Gulf Shield 2026 features a series of drills, tests, and simulated scenarios designed to enhance combat readiness, improve rapid responses to potential threats, and strengthen joint military cooperation among GCC forces. The exercise also focuses on increasing coordination and integration within a shared operational environment, following international best practices.

According to the Saudi Ministry of Defense, the exercise aims to develop the operational capabilities of participating forces, unify military concepts, exchange field expertise, and improve the efficiency of joint planning and execution.

Gulf Shield is considered a key exercise for reinforcing joint Gulf military action and plays an important role in supporting the security, stability, and safety of GCC member states.

The exercise reflects the depth of defense partnerships among GCC countries and demonstrates the readiness of their armed forces to address regional challenges effectively.
