2.4 Million Trees Planted as Part of Bahrain’s National Afforestation Plan

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today received a briefing on the latest developments of Bahrain’s National Afforestation Plan at Riffa Palace.
During the meeting, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, reported that 2.4 million trees have been planted so far, reaching 67% of the plan’s goal of 3.6 million trees by 2035. The Bahrain Mangroves Initiative has also exceeded expectations, planting 2.2 million seedlings—138% of its original target of 1.6 million seedlings.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister welcomed these achievements and emphasized the Kingdom’s commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection. He noted that the initiatives are carefully planned and monitored with clear performance indicators, strengthening Bahrain’s role as a regional leader in environmental sustainability, in line with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad Isa Al Khalifa.
