flydubai Launches Direct Flights to Vilnius, Connecting UAE and Lithuania
Dubai-based airline flydubai has launched direct flights to Vilnius, becoming the first UAE carrier to connect the two cities. The new route, operating three times a week, strengthens air links between the UAE and Lithuania and opens new opportunities for travel, tourism, and trade.
Her Excellency Noora Juma, UAE’s non-resident Ambassador to Lithuania, said the new connection “opens doors to endless possibilities for two nations with much to offer each other.”
Juras Taminskas, Lithuania’s Minister of Transport and Communications, highlighted the importance of the route, noting that it will carry around 40,000 passengers in its first year and expand travel options for both business and leisure.
The Dubai-Vilnius connection is expected to boost economic cooperation, attract tourists, and provide Lithuanian travelers access to Dubai and onward destinations like the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and Thailand.
Jeyhun Efendi, flydubai’s Divisional Senior VP of Commercial Operations, said the flights reflect the airline’s commitment to “expanding direct connectivity to underserved markets” and supporting tourism and trade between the two countries.
Simonas Bartkus, CEO of Lithuanian Airports, called the launch “a significant step in expanding Lithuania’s air connectivity” and said the route would provide access to over 200 destinations through the combined flydubai and Emirates network.
Passengers on the new route can enjoy flydubai’s Business Class with lie-flat seats and premium dining, while Economy Class offers inflight entertainment and meals.
