The Minister of Interior, His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, emphasised Bahrain’s continued commitment to enhancing road safety, noting the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to protect lives and property.

“Ensuring the safety of our citizens on the roads is a top priority, and we will continue to implement measures that save lives and maintain smooth traffic flow,” said H.E. Gen. Shaikh Rashid, also Chairman of the Traffic Council.

He highlighted the support of the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The council reviewed progress on smart camera installations, which aim to enhance road safety and monitor traffic patterns.

Other infrastructure updates included the development and expansion of Road 76 in Sakhir and measures to mitigate the accumulation of heavy trucks in residential areas.

Proposals The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications presented proposals for the King Hamad Causeway link to Bahrain Northern Road and updates on the GCC railway project connecting Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

H.E. Gen. Shaikh Rashid expressed appreciation to council members for their efforts and emphasised the importance of field operations and roundthe-clock readiness to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety.
