BKS-DC International Book Festival & Cultural Carnival Opens in Bahrain

The 9th BKS-DC International Book Festival and Cultural Carnival, a collaboration between Bahrain Keraleeya Samaj (BKS) and DC Books, was inaugurated. H.E. Vinod K. Jacob, the Indian Ambassador to Bahrain, formally opened the event, which was preceded by a musical performance by over 80 students from the Asian School.
The ceremony featured renowned poet and lyricist Prabha Varma as the guest of honor. BKS President P.V. Radhakrishna Pillai delivered the keynote address, and the Ambassador officially addressed the audience by lighting the lamp.
Running daily until December 14th (9 am to 11 pm), the festival showcases nearly one lakh books, including a dedicated children’s section, alongside a photography exhibition.
Daily cultural programs, including music, dance, and Indian art forms, begin at 7:30 pm, followed by book launches and interactive sessions with guest authors. The festival and exhibitions are open to the public daily.
