Wildfire Threatens Nevada City as 42,000 Flee Blazing Infernal

Reno: Tens of thousands of residents have been forced to flee their homes as a fast-moving, wind-driven bushfire rapidly advances on the western American city of Reno.
Around 42,000 people have already evacuated, while an additional 45,000 residents are on high alert to leave at a moment's notice. The Hawk Fire broke out a day ago and swiftly swept across more than 6,000 hectares, burning just eight kilometres northwest of the city’s residential zones.
Strong, unpredictable winds are driving flames through mountaintop neighborhoods, leaving several structures destroyed and at least six people injured, including three emergency responders. Authorities have reported that the blaze is exhibiting extreme fire behaviour as smoke clouds loom over the city of 280,000 residents.
In response to the growing crisis, Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo has issued a state of emergency for Washoe County, warning that the flames pose an immediate danger to life and property. Local fire officials continue to urge locals to evacuate immediately to prevent further casualties as containment efforts remain underway.
