Turkish Ties Strengthened

Minister of Industry and Commerce Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro received Turkish Ambassador to Bahrain Aişe Hilal Sayan Koytak to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation.

Fakhro highlighted the continued growth of Bahrain-Türkiye relations and praised the ambassador’s efforts to strengthen cooperation, particularly in industry and commerce.

Danat Women’s Swim Meet

The first edition of the Danat Women’s Swimming Championship concluded with the crowning of winners across various categories.  

The closing ceremony was attended by Lulwa bint Saleh Al Awadhi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women. The championship drew wide participation and marked a significant milestone for women’s swimming in Bahrain.

Space Agency Tracks Climate

Bahrain Space Agency CEO Dr Mohammed Ibrahim Al Aseeri participated in a seminar in Dubai on using space technologies to monitor climate change and dust.

The seminar examined satellite Earth observation, remote sensing, geographic information systems, climate modelling and artificial intelligence to monitor risks including dust, air quality, desertification and changes to land surfaces.

Al Aseeri stressed the importance of these technologies for addressing environmental challenges and developing Bahrain’s capabilities in climate monitoring, sustainability, water and food security.

Food Waste Cooperation

The Conserving Bounties Association visited the Saudi Food Bank in the Eastern Province to exchange expertise and explore approaches to managing food surpluses and reducing food waste.

Led by board member and Executive Committee Chairwoman Amaal Yousif Al Moayyed, the delegation reviewed the “Ita'am Express” non-profit supermarket, which combines community service with financial sustainability.

The two sides discussed future cooperation, including a joint committee, food distribution networks and collection points, while exploring sustainable models that could be applied in Bahrain.

Two Arrested Fraud

Muharraq Governorate Police Directorate arrested two Asian nationals, aged 24 and 25, over several alleged fraud offences involving more than BD4,000.

Police said the suspects allegedly used an online platform to offer decoration and carpentry services under the name of a cancelled commercial establishment, collected payments and failed to complete the agreed work. They were also accused of taking raw materials from a commercial company without payment.

Following reports, police identified and arrested the suspects. Legal procedures have been initiated ahead of their referral to the Public Prosecution.

Attorney General Praises Women

The Attorney General, Dr. Ali bin Fadhel Al Buainain said the Supreme Council for Women's silver jubilee marks 25 years of institutional efforts that have strengthened the position of Bahraini women and expanded their participation in national work.

The Attorney General also highlighted the contributions of Bahraini women in the Public Prosecution, noting that their competence and dedication reflect the opportunities available to women to serve society, uphold justice and strengthen the rule of law.

Housing Women Empowered

Housing and Urban Planning Ministry Undersecretary Fatima Al Mannai said the Supreme Council for Women’s silver jubilee reflects 25 years of institutional efforts to advance Bahraini women and strengthen their role in development.

She highlighted the Council’s role in supporting women’s progress and said cooperation between the Council and the ministry helps identify women’s needs and develop related housing initiatives and services.
