Moscow: Debris from a Ukrainian drone attack fell onto a private children's facility in southern Russia, killing two children and wounding nine other people, according to regional authorities.

Krasnodar regional governor Veniamin Kondratyev confirmed the casualties at the childcare centre early Monday. He added that falling drone debris also ignited a fire at a local commercial warehouse.

Russian e-commerce company Ozon confirmed a major fire at its Krasnodar logistics facility, though no staff casualties were reported there.

The strikes form part of an intensified campaign by Ukrainian forces targeting major Russian commercial distribution hubs. Ozon reported similar drone strikes hitting its facilities in the Orenburg, Samara, and Saint Petersburg regions over recent days.

The attack occurred as Ukraine prepared to mark the 35th anniversary of its independence. Kyiv is also preparing to host European allies at an upcoming Coalition of the Willing summit.
