London: In a strong statement of continued European solidarity, British Prime Minister Andy Burnham is travelling to Kyiv today for his inaugural diplomatic journey since assuming office.

The high-level visit aligns with Ukraine’s 35th independence anniversary celebrations. During the trip, Burnham is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and head a regional security coalition summit previously initiated by the UK and France. He will also accept a national honour on behalf of the British public for their ongoing assistance during the conflict.

Underlining London's long-term backing, the British government intends to permit defence contractor MBDA to share technical details regarding Storm Shadow missile components. This move is designed to assist Ukrainian forces in manufacturing similar long-range capabilities domestically.

The Prime Minister’s arrival comes during a period of heightened tensions between the two nations, marked by recent diplomatic departures in London and rising security warnings across NATO members regarding Russian hybrid operations.
