Saudi Ambassador praises Bahrain’s leading role in advancing Gulf coordination and unity
Bahrain’s hosting of the 46th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit underscores the Kingdom’s trusted regional role and its commitment to advancing political, economic and security coordination, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Bahrain, His Highness Naif bin Bandar Al Sudairi, has affirmed. HH Al Sudairi described the summit as a pivotal moment for Gulf unity, noting that Bahrain’s leadership has consistently played a constructive role in shaping consensus among GCC member states.“Bahrain’s hosting of this summit represents an important milestone in joint Gulf action,” he said, emphasising the Kingdom’s longstanding efforts under His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to enhance cooperation and integration across the region.
Responsibility
The Ambassador stressed that organising such a major event went beyond logistical responsibility. “This is not merely an organisational task,” he said. “It reflects a deep belief in the importance of joint action aimed at strengthening Gulf unity.” He added that the gathering comes at a critical time amid rapid regional and global developments affecting security, stability and development.
Agreement
According to him, the summit is expected to reinforce agreement on unified foreign policy positions and coordinated responses to regional crises, further solidifying the GCC’s credibility and influence. HH Al Sudairi noted that Bahrain’s role in hosting the summit sends a strong message of Gulf cohesion. “The Gulf today represents a model of regional stability and cooperation founded on dialogue, balance and openness,” he said, adding that the summit highlights both the continuity of Gulf unity and the collective commitment to deeper integration.
He highlighted the attention the GCC receives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, noting their shared dedication to strengthening cooperation, supporting stability and advancing the aspirations of Gulf peoples. The ambassador explained that successive GCC summits have served as a cornerstone for shaping unified political positions and coordinating approaches to issues that directly affect the region’s security and stability.
He said the 46th summit builds on decades of achievements, reflecting the determination of GCC leaders to confront challenges with a unified vision.
Key role
He also underlined the key role of these summits in promoting joint defence and security integration and addressing cross-border challenges such as terrorism, climate change and energy and food security. Their continuity, he said, demonstrates that Gulf unity is not temporary, but a deeply rooted principle guided by the vision of Gulf leaders and reinforced by the cohesion of Gulf societies. HH Al Sudairi further highlighted the historic and strategic ties between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, describing them as a model of Gulf solidarity.
Shared values
The relationship, he said, is grounded in shared values, aligned regional positions and continuous consultation between His Majesty King Hamad and King Salman. He also commended the role of Gulf media, calling it an essential pillar in strengthening Gulf identity and presenting a unified narrative to the world. In a time of rapid political, economic and technological shifts, he said Gulf media bears the responsibility of promoting balanced coverage that reflects official positions, developmental achievements and the region’s commitment to security and stability.
