Bahrain Nears Completion of Major Upgrade to Kuwait Health Centre
As part of its continued efforts to advance healthcare services in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, the Ministry of Works is pushing forward with a major development and expansion project at the Kuwait Health Centre in Karrzakan.
Engineer Sheikh Mishal bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works, conducted an inspection visit to the site, accompanied by Dr. Ijlal Faisal Al Alawi, Chief Executive of Primary Healthcare Centres, along with a team of ministry engineers.
During the visit, Sheikh Mishal confirmed that construction is progressing according to the approved schedule, with overall completion now reaching 88%. He noted that the project is one of several key service facilities redesigned and supervised by the ministry to elevate public service standards.
He added that the new development incorporates green building standards, aligning with national energy-saving policies and supporting environmental sustainability across government projects.
The expansion includes renovating part of the current facility and constructing a new two-storey extension at the front of the centre. The ground floor will feature administrative offices, a meeting room, and consultant workspaces, while the first floor will house a fully equipped dental department along with supporting services.
Dr. Ijlal Al Alawi emphasized that the visit aims to monitor the latest progress on a project considered vital to strengthening Bahrain’s healthcare infrastructure. She explained that the expansion falls within a comprehensive national plan to upgrade health centres, improve patient experience, enhance operational efficiency, and deliver a modern, integrated treatment environment for both citizens and residents.
The project was awarded by the Tender Board to Bokhowa Group for Contracting and Trading, with a contract value of BD 1,145,106.
