Bahrain Welcomes Omani Interior Minister for Fraternal Talks
His Excellency Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, received this morning His Excellency Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior of the brotherly Sultanate of Oman.
Upon arrival at the Police Castle, a guard of honor rendered a formal salute. The Omani delegation was welcomed by the Deputy Minister of Interior, the Chief of Public Security, and several senior officials from Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior.
At the start of the official talks, Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa warmly welcomed his Omani counterpart and the accompanying delegation. He emphasized that this fraternal visit reflects the deep-rooted and historic ties between the two countries and their peoples, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman.
The Bahraini minister highlighted the importance of continued cooperation in the face of evolving security challenges, stressing the need to strengthen joint mechanisms and enhance coordination to fortify security collaboration under the existing cooperation agreement between the governments of Bahrain and Oman. He praised the high level of coordination between the two countries in combating transnational organized crime.
For his part, the Omani Minister of Interior lauded the longstanding fraternal and historical relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Bahrain, reaffirming the commitment of both countries to further develop these ties, particularly in security affairs. He underscored the importance of reciprocal visits in consolidating joint security efforts, aligning positions, and addressing present and future security challenges, while stressing the necessity of coordinated action to counter all forms of criminal threats.
During the discussions, both ministers reviewed key security matters aimed at enhancing cooperation and coordination, building upon previous achievements to elevate performance in addressing rapid security developments at regional and international levels.
The visit concluded with an exchange of commemorative gifts and a note by the Omani minister in the Ministry of Interior’s guest book, expressing his pleasure in visiting Bahrain and meeting with his counterpart to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations for the benefit of both countries and their peoples.
