Three Asian defendants have been referred to trial on charges of human trafficking.

This was announced by the Attorney General and Head of the Human Trafficking Prosecution Office.

The Public Prosecution received a report from the Anti-Human Trafficking Department of the General Department of Criminal Investigation and Evidence, stating that the defendants had unlawfully restricted the freedom of a victim and trafficked her by forcing her to engage in illegal activities for their own financial gain.

Following the report, the Public Prosecution immediately launched an investigation. It heard the victim’s testimony and, in accordance with standard procedures in such cases, ordered that she be placed in a shelter affiliated with the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons.

Witness statements

The prosecution also heard witness statements, interrogated one of the accused, and ordered his pretrial detention.

Warrants have been issued for the arrest of the remaining fugitives, who will also be referred for criminal trial.

A hearing has been scheduled for November 2, 2025, before the High Criminal Court.
