HRH Crown Prince Meets New U.S. Fifth Fleet Commander

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister, met today with Vice Admiral Curt A. Renshaw, the newly appointed Commander of the United States Naval Forces Central Command, the U.S. Fifth Fleet, and the Combined Maritime Forces, at Riffa Palace.

The meeting underscored the enduring and evolving partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States — a relationship rooted in decades of cooperation and shared strategic goals.

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad praised the deep defence and security ties between the two nations, noting that Bahrain remains committed to further strengthening joint efforts in promoting regional stability and global peace. He also emphasised the importance of building upon the success of existing frameworks, particularly the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), which continues to bolster collaboration in defence, intelligence, and economic growth.

Extending his warm congratulations to Vice Admiral Renshaw on his new appointment, His Royal Highness wished him success in his leadership of the U.S. Fifth Fleet and the Combined Maritime Forces.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister also highlighted the United States’ vital role — alongside its regional allies — in safeguarding maritime security, ensuring freedom of navigation, and supporting global stability and development.

Both leaders discussed current regional and international developments and explored ways to expand cooperation under their shared commitment to peace, security, and prosperity.

His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court, also attended the meeting.
