Bahrain Participates in GCC Economic and Development Committee Meeting in Kuwait

Mr. Yousif Abdullah Al Hammoud, Undersecretary for Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, led the Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation at the seventh meeting of the Standing Ministerial Preparatory Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council’s (GCC) Economic and Development Affairs Authority, held today in Kuwait.

The meeting brought together Their Excellencies the Ministers of Finance and Economy from GCC member states, alongside H.E. Jassem Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the GCC.

During the session, participants reviewed a range of key topics on the agenda aimed at strengthening the unified Gulf economic framework and advancing sustainable development opportunities across the region. Discussions included the timeline and roadmap for implementing initiatives and projects related to achieving the GCC Economic Unity, progress in free trade negotiations, and the ongoing execution of strategic action plans and schedules for building a cohesive Gulf economic model.

The committee also examined reports on economic indicators and developments within member states, along with updates on initiatives and programs currently being implemented by the Economic and Development Affairs Authority’s Office.

The meeting underscored the GCC’s collective commitment to fostering deeper economic integration and promoting a dynamic regional economy capable of responding to global challenges and opportunities.
