Six held for violating residency conditions and selling banned tobacco and alcoholic beverages

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) police at the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, in two separate incidents, has arrested six Asians in East Riffa for violating residency conditions and selling and trading tobacco and alcoholic beverages.

The Ministry of Interior confirmed the arrest which is part of its efforts to maintain order, combat crime, and implement law enforcement campaigns, as well as conduct inspections of those violating residency conditions in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The department explained that upon receiving information about the two incidents, searches and investigations were conducted, which resulted in identifying the suspects and arresting them.

A quantity of tobacco, alcoholic beverages, and electrical wires were also seized in their possession.

The Criminal Information Division indicated that the necessary legal measures have been taken in preparation for referring the two incidents to the Public Prosecution, stressing the importance of communication and activating community partnerships to support security efforts to confront any practices that violate public law.

It also stressed the need to communicate and cooperate with the security and competent authorities by reporting any information related to relevant activities, by contacting the General Department of Criminal Investigations and Evidence on 17718888 around the clock, while ensuring complete confidentiality of the information.
