Bahrain U17s clinch main round spot at Asian Championship

Bahrain’s under-17 national handball team have advanced to the main round of the Asian Men’s U17 Championship after a dramatic 31- 30 win over Kuwait in Amman yesterday.
The result, which followed their earlier win against Hong Kong, secured Bahrain’s second win in Group A, moving them to four points and guaranteeing top spot in the pool.
Bahrain started strongly and led 15-13 at half-time. Kuwait fought back after the restart to level the contest, but Bahrain held their nerve. Ahmed Abdullah struck the decisive goal late on to seal the one-goal win.
The championship in the Jordanian capital runs until 24 September and also serves as qualification for the 2027 IHF U19 World Championship.
