TOKYO: Around twenty people were injured at a luxury shopping complex in central Tokyo on Monday after a man sprayed an unidentified substance inside the building. The hazardous incident immediately triggered an emergency response in the city’s busy Ginza district.
Tokyo police reported that the suspect deployed the substance near a ground-floor ATM. Witnesses noticed a noxious smell just before shoppers began experiencing physical discomfort, bringing first responders to the scene.
Emergency personnel dressed in hazmat suits immediately set up a containment perimeter. Rescuers evacuated affected victims on stretchers and transferred individuals into specialized trucks for urgent medical evaluation.
