Premier League Play-Offs Resume

The end-of-season relegation play-offs resume tonight, with four clubs battling for the two remaining places in the 2026–27 Nasser Bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League.

Budaiya, Al Najma, Al Ettihad and Manama are competing in a single round-robin format, each playing three matches, with only the top two guaranteed top-flight football next season. With so little room for error, every goal and every point carries significant weight.

Last Thursday's opening round immediately underlined the stakes. Al Najma edged Al Ettihad 2–1 in a match that saw Ettihad reduced to 10 men, while Manama also took advantage of a numerical edge, beating Budaiya 1–0 after their opponents were similarly reduced to 10 players. Those results leave Al Ettihad and Budaiya under early pressure, with little time to recover.

Attention now shifts to tonight’s fixtures, with Budaiya facing Al Najma at Bahrain National Stadium, while Manama meet Al Ettihad at Al Ahli Stadium. Both matches are set to kick off simultaneously at 7pm.

Budaiya and Al Najma enter the play-offs after finishing ninth and 10th in the top flight, while Manama and Al Ettihad arrive from the First Division after finishing third and fourth respectively, setting up a direct clash between sides moving in opposite directions.
