Bahrain’s First Official EDAIC Examiner Appointed

The European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC) has officially accredited Dr. Nada Sarwani, Consultant Anaesthesiologist at the Government Hospitals, as the first official examiner from the Kingdom of Bahrain for the European Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (EDAIC – Part I). The exam was hosted by the Government Hospitals on September 12-13, with the participation of 70 physicians.

On this occasion, Dr. Maryam Adhbi Al Jalahma, Chief Executive Officer of the Government Hospitals, highlighted Bahrain’s strong commitment to supporting and empowering national talent to excel on international platforms. She noted that this international accreditation reflects the country’s investment in human capital and reinforces Bahrain’s distinguished position on the global healthcare map by fostering collaboration with leading international institutions. This, she said, contributes to enhancing the quality of healthcare services and achieving sustainable development goals.

Dr. Al Jalahma congratulated Dr. Sarwani, emphasizing the significance of this accreditation as a major milestone in Bahrain’s medical journey. She stated that it will help develop the skills of Bahraini doctors and promote international knowledge exchange and partnerships in the healthcare sector, advancing the country’s vision and aspirations.

For her part, Dr. Nada Sarwani expressed pride in this accreditation, describing it as the result of Bahrain’s continuous support for national cadres and its belief in their ability to achieve excellence and leadership across various fields.

She added that her accreditation as an official examiner with ESAIC opens new horizons for hosting this prestigious international exam in Bahrain for the first time, providing doctors from within the Kingdom and abroad the opportunity to take the exam locally. This, she noted, strengthens Bahrain’s position as a regional hub for medical training and development, particularly in the fields of anaesthesiology and intensive care.
