Arbitration Experts Join Second Edition of Hawar Circle

Leading Bahrain-based arbitration and dispute resolution professionals are participating in the second edition of the Hawar Circle, organised by the Council for International Dispute Resolution of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Among the participants are Reza Mohtashami and Tom Sikora, members of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR), and Philippe Pinsolle, Judge at the Bahrain International Commercial Court (BICC).

The three-day gathering brings together a select group of arbitration practitioners from the United Kingdom, Republic of Singapore, French Republic, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Republic of India, and Hong Kong, building on discussions initiated during the inaugural Hawar Circle.

The second edition focuses on three key areas of international arbitration: Immunity, Ethics, and the Right of Representation.

The participation of Mohtashami and Sikora reflects the BCDR’s continued engagement in international dialogue on the fundamental principles of arbitration, drawing inspiration from the Centenary Principles of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) in London.

Meanwhile, Judge Pinsolle’s participation highlights the Bahrain International Commercial Court’s continued involvement in discussions aimed at shaping international standards and best practices in arbitration.

Throughout the three-day event, participants will examine practical challenges facing international arbitration, exchange professional experiences and perspectives, and collaborate on strengthening principles that promote fair and effective dispute resolution.

The discussions will contribute to the further development of the Hawar Principles, which are scheduled to undergo a global review process before their formal adoption.
