Bahrain Leads GCC Cultural Cooperation at Riyadh Meeting

Bahrain participated in the 59th meeting of the GCC General Cultural Committee in Riyadh, as part of the Kingdom’s presidency of the 46th session of the GCC Supreme Council.
The meeting reviewed developments in Gulf cultural cooperation, including the GCC Writers Guide, joint cultural events, cultural statistics and international cooperation. Discussions also covered initiatives such as GCC Cultural Days, the GCC Award for Cultural Innovators, translation and Arabisation projects, and the GCC Action Plan for Cultural and Creative Industries for 2027–2030.
Plans to organise GCC Cultural Days at UNESCO headquarters in Paris in 2027 were also discussed.
Recommendations from the meeting will be presented to the upcoming GCC Ministers of Culture meeting in Bahrain for further consideration and action.
